YBNL 10 -- Mavin Records 0, Headies Snub Old Faces For New

OK, not zero, Tiwa Savage got nominated for artiste of the year for the forthcoming Headies award which many believe she got simply cause of her recent deal with ROC Nation. Well same cannot be said for another international label star, Davido who was completely ignored for this year award. Before you cry foul, Yemi Alade, MAMA's Female artiste of the year also barely picked up a nomination in the same artiste of the year category.

So who got the most nominations, well the youngsters who have been looking for a voice that's who. But not all the youngsters tho, while Tekno who recently won Song of the year with his 'Duro' track only got one nomination to his name, the heroic trio of Mavin records, Korede Bello, Di'ja and Reekado who recently dropped an album didn't get mentioned at all.

Well there is an excuse for Reekky boy as his album dropped later than the period used for award consideration(June 2015-July 2016), so he can be pardoned right, Nope!! , excuses are for losers, cause Adekunle Gold who dropped his album at almost the same time, shares the highest amount of nominations picked this year with his rumored boo, Simi, Falz, Ycee and Kiss Daniel. Yup this four youngsters picked up 4 nominations each.

Apart from these younglings in the game, only Darey Alade and Olamide got 4 other nominations. Even Wizkid escaped with barely 3 and we can all thank Drake's hit track for that, tho Headies claim its cause of his hit track, 'Final' Baba Nla'.

Some acts have been complaining about the awards, like Solidstar and Viktor YBNL(after your boiz carry 10abi), but we all can't deny the fairness shown by the organisers this year. As for Davido pulling a stunt at the Headies, it won't happen as non of his goons got picked and we probably won't hear 'if u want the car comma collect it', except Wizkid comes out to defend Mr Eazi that goes up against, Tekno, Ycee, Aramide and Humblesmith for the next rated Car.
